Loom View is an Obsidian plugin that visualizes Markdown notes with date and region metadata in a grid-based timeline, enabling side-by-side comparison of events across custom lanes with interactive highlighting of connections.
How It Works
You hear about Loom View, a fun way to see your notes about history, stories, or projects laid out like a woven tapestry across time and places.
You easily add this visualization tool to your favorite note-taking app with a simple search and install.
You add simple labels to your notes like start year, end year, place or category, and key people involved.
You visit the settings to pick your favorite categories for rows, zoom steps, and quick-jump eras.
You open the Loom View and watch your notes magically appear as colorful blocks in a grid, with time flowing left to right and places stacked in lanes.
You zoom in or out, filter lanes, and hover over notes to see glowing lines linking related events and people across the grid.
Now you effortlessly spot patterns, overlaps, and threads in your history, world-building, or projects, making everything click into place.
