Free, open-source macOS window manager. Keyboard shortcuts, drag-to-edge snapping, multi-display support. A native Swift alternative to Magnet.
Magnetism is a free open-source macOS application that enables users to resize and position windows into screen halves, quarters, thirds, and other layouts using customizable keyboard shortcuts or drag-to-edge snapping.
How It Works
You find a free tool that helps snap windows neatly on your Mac, like halves, quarters, or thirds of the screen.
Download the app zip, unzip it, and drag it to your Applications folder.
Right-click to open it first time, then allow it to control your computer so it can move windows.
Press a shortcut like Control-Option-Left Arrow, and your active window smoothly slides to fill the left half of the screen.
Drag any window toward a screen edge or corner, see a preview glow up, and release to snap perfectly.
Click the menu bar icon to open settings, tweak shortcuts, enable auto-launch, or adjust drag snapping.
Your workspace feels magical – windows align effortlessly across multiple screens for better focus and multitasking.
