DiffChecker is a desktop application that helps you compare two text files and see exactly what changed between them. You load two versions of any document or code file, and the app shows them side-by-side with clear highlighting of differences. It works completely offline on your computer, supports many file types, and includes helpful features like keyboard shortcuts, synchronized scrolling, and the ability to hide unchanged sections so you can focus on what actually changed.
How It Works
Maybe you edited a document and forgot what changed, or you're reviewing someone else's code updates.
The app installs on your computer just like any other program, with options to add shortcuts to your desktop and start menu.
You load the first version of your document into the left panel by picking it from your computer's files.
You load the second version into the right panel, placing the two files side by side.
With one click or keyboard shortcut, the app instantly scans both files and highlights every difference.
Changed lines glow in color, and you can even see exactly which characters changed within each line. You can hide unchanged parts to focus on what matters.
Whether it's catching a typo, reviewing code changes, or merging documents, you can see every difference clearly and work with confidence.
