Poof is a macOS menu bar app that automatically expands short typed triggers into customizable text snippets including dates, times, clipboard content, and cursor positioning.
How It Works
You hear about Poof, a handy Mac tool that turns short codes you type into full phrases or dates to save time.
Download the ready-to-use app from the releases page and drag it into your Applications folder to start it up.
Poof asks for permission to see what you type in any app, so it can spot your shortcuts and help out.
Choose a spot on your Mac to store your personal list of shortcuts, and it creates sample ones like :date for today.
As you type :date and hit space anywhere, it magically swaps to today's date right where your cursor is.
Click the menu bar icon to adjust settings, add more shortcuts, or reload changes anytime.
Now repetitive text like signatures or addresses pop in instantly, making emails and notes a breeze.
