Operon is a task management plugin for Obsidian that brings structure to tasks written in Markdown. It recognizes special task lines in your notes and gives each one a unique identity, so you can find, organize, schedule, and track them across multiple views including Calendar, Kanban boards, and saved filters. Tasks can be inline checkboxes within notes or standalone file-based tasks, and both types share the same system. It includes time tracking, recurring tasks, parent-child hierarchies, and customizable workflows. All data stays in your vault as readable Markdown.
How It Works
Your notes are full of scattered tasks, reminders, and checklists that are hard to find and track.
One click to add it to your vault, and everything is ready to go without any complicated setup.
Type a simple checkbox with your task description, and Operon recognizes it instantly with a unique identity.
Drag tasks onto your calendar, set due dates, and see your whole schedule at a glance.
Drag tasks across columns to show progress through your workflow
Create reusable views like 'high priority due this week'
Break big projects into subtasks that roll up progress automatically
Start a timer on any task, and Operon records how long you spent so you know where your time goes.
Everything is still plain Markdown you can read anywhere, but now you have calendars, boards, search, and time tracking working together.
