HorizonHaptics is a hobby program that connects a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller to the racing game Forza Horizon 6, translating live game data into physical sensations through the controller's adaptive triggers. When you play, the triggers push back with resistance based on your speed and turning forces, vibrate during wheelspin and on rumble strips, feel firm during hard braking and handbrake use, and give sharp jolts during collisions. It includes a friendly settings window so you can adjust how strong everything feels, and your choices are saved automatically so everything is ready each time you play.
How It Works
A friend tells you about a program that makes your PlayStation controller feel more real in racing games - the triggers push back when you accelerate and vibrate when you hit the road.
You double-click a simple launcher file and everything installs automatically - no technical knowledge needed, just wait a moment while it sets itself up.
You plug your PS5 controller into your computer with a USB cable, or connect it over Bluetooth, and the program recognizes it right away.
Inside Forza's settings, you enable a feature that sends game information to your PC, and you type in the address shown inside the program's window - this is how they talk to each other.
The default settings feel great immediately - you can drive and feel every bump, brake, and gear change through your triggers.
You fine-tune things like how strong the resistance feels, how sensitive the wheelspin effects are, and which features are on or off.
When you accelerate out of a corner, the trigger pushes back. When you hit a rumble strip, you feel it. When you brake hard, the resistance builds up just like a real car. Collisions give a sharp jolt. The road texture even hums through your fingers at idle.
What used to be a flat controller now responds to everything happening on screen - you're more connected to the game and every turn, bump, and collision feels real.
