PublicChrome-style tab grouping for Obsidian - group tabs with a label and color, collapse/expand groups, and persist groups across restarts.
An Obsidian plugin that enables users to create colored, named, collapsible tab groups similar to those in Chrome, with persistence across app restarts.
How It Works
While browsing for ways to tidy up your many open tabs in the Obsidian note-taking app, you find this handy addition that mimics browser tab grouping.
Download a few simple files from the project page and drop them into your app's special plugins spot, then refresh to wake it up.
Head to your app settings, spot the new Chrome-style Tab Groups item, and switch it on to start using it right away.
Right-click any tab at the top, pick 'Add to group' then 'New group', type a name like 'Research' and choose a bright color.
Right-click more tabs to join them to existing groups or make new ones, renaming or recoloring them to fit your workflow.
Click the colorful group badge next to your tabs to collapse them out of sight, freeing up room on your tab bar.
Shut down and restart your app – all your groups, colors, and collapsed states appear just as you arranged them.
Sit back with a clutter-free tab bar, easily expanding groups when needed, making your note-taking feel smooth and joyful.
