Noflock / Flock-IR-Detection
PublicPassive Detection of Flock LPR Cameras Using Infrared Pulses (no affiliation with Flock Safety)
A hardware project to build a passive vehicle-mounted detector that alerts drivers to Flock LPR cameras via their unique nighttime infrared pulses.
How It Works
You hear about a simple gadget that spots invisible night flashes from Flock license plate cameras and alerts you right away.
Pick up light sensors, a small control board, wires, lights, a buzzer, and a switch from online shops or stores.
Connect the outside light sensors and inside alerts to the control board using easy pictures as your guide.
Plug the board into your computer with a USB cable and load the ready-to-go program that makes everything smart.
Stick the sensors on the outside rear and place the lights and buzzer inside where you can see and hear them.
Flip the switch on, check that the green light glows, and wave a light to hear the beep and see the red flash.
At night, as you cruise along, the device beeps and flashes whenever a Flock camera nearby pulses its hidden light.
Now you get a friendly heads-up every time one of those cameras tries to capture your plate in the dark.
