Termini is a lightweight macOS application that puts a full-featured terminal emulator directly in your menu bar. Instead of keeping a separate terminal window on your desktop, it lives at the top of your screen and appears when you click its icon. You can open multiple terminal tabs, customize the appearance with six color themes or your own custom colors, adjust background transparency, and change font sizes. The app can also open your current working directory in other popular terminal apps like Terminal.app, iTerm2, Ghostty, Warp, or Alacritty. You can set it to launch automatically when you log in, so your terminal is always ready when you need it.
How It Works
You hear about a terminal that lives in your menu bar instead of taking up desktop space, so you never have to switch windows again.
You download and install Termini on your Mac, and it appears as a small icon in your menu bar at the top of your screen.
On first launch, an animated welcome screen shows a typing demo with colorful commands scrolling by, making you excited to start.
With one click, you have a full terminal session right in your menu bar, ready to type commands without disrupting your workflow.
Choose from Classic, Dracula, Nord, Solarized, Gruvbox, or Matrix themes, or create your own custom colors.
Slide the opacity slider to make the terminal see-through, and change the font size to your preference.
You open several terminal tabs for different projects, and each tab shows the current folder name as its title for easy navigation.
You set Termini to open automatically when you log in, and now your powerful terminal is always one click away, exactly the way you like it.
