PublicGNOME 49 Shell Extension designed to enhance screen readability and reduce eye strain by adding a subtle, customizable texture overlay to your entire desktop.
PaperShell is a GNOME Shell extension that overlays a customizable noise texture resembling paper across the entire desktop to reduce eye strain and improve readability.
How It Works
You search for ways to make your computer screen easier on the eyes during long reading or coding, and find PaperShell, which adds a soft paper-like texture to your whole desktop.
Download the simple folder from the project page.
Rename the folder just right and move it into the spot where your GNOME desktop keeps its extra features.
Log out and log back in to let your desktop pick up the new addition.
Open the Extensions app and turn PaperShell on with a simple toggle.
Click the new icon in your top panel to toggle the texture and slide to adjust how subtle or strong it feels.
Your screen now has a gentle, paper-like overlay that softens the light and makes everything easier to read for hours without strain.
